We are manufacturers and suppliers of high quality art stretchers for the art world. We hand craft our stretchers to order and would like to point out the features that make our stretchers unique:
• We make any size to order - very large frames are not a problem for us and are made from 32 x 44mm wood - we also make oval and circular stretchers
• Standard sizes are made from 21 x 32 wood and all stretchers 750mm on a single side are re-enforced with braces. The inside edges of the frame are bevelled so that the canvas only contacts the frame at its outer edge.
• We use 100% cotton yarn duck weave for our canvasses, which are available in a choice of four weights
• Corners are mitre-joined for extra strength; canvas corners are neat
• The material is covered tightly so that the finished product is drum-taught.
• Canvasses are double primed with a resin based primer, the reverse is treated with an anti-fungal agent and sealed (if requested)
• The excess canvas is trimmed and adhered to the frame for extra neatness
• All interior edges are rounded so that there is no 'brush-edge'
• Canvas surfaces are prepared to give a smooth macro-finish, but a rough micro-finish for good paint adhesion, or left untouched according to the artist's preference.
